I'm looking for something to replace a 2d/3d V3 3000. I don't need the latest and greatest (read: most expensive) just a good card at a good price.

thanks

I replaced my Voodoo3 3000 3 months ago with a Creative Lab's Geforce 2 GTS 32 meg card. I bought it used for $100. Excellent card. Even Quake1 looks great with this card, and I run everything in 32 bit color including games like Half Life.

I feel bad about the v3 not working right, but curious why it worked just fine before the format. Still must be a driver conflict I'd guess.

Anyway for what you play I'd suggest a geforce too, they are faster than the radeon cards. Here's some for around 50

64meg version 73

Or maybe a kyro 64meg for 63, heard they are excellent and fast cards too

From what I've seen the radeon has better visual but then sometimes others say otherwise. But the radeon isn't as fast at the gforce with most games.

I've been running a Creative Labs Annihilator Pro (GeForce 256 DDR) since they came out. It's been a great card so...See this post:

Thanks for the tip MAC.

ECKO,

I'll take 70 bux for the CL GeForce 32MB DDR if ya want it. Works great and in mint shape. Retail boxed version comes with WinDVD etc.
