k all heres the scenario....bought a kt7 from the forums and it worked fine with my 650 unlocked t-bird. during a game of diablo 2 it crashed and from then on it says cpu unworkkable or cmos checksum error defaults loaded.heres the specs as they stand right now. kt7..650 factory unlocked t bird...SOrb... 4meg pci vid card, pny pc100 ram. still get the same errors. running bios 3c. need some advice or some attempts to see the good in having aboard and chip idle at the moment.

steps taken so far to troubleshoot.
bareboned(see above)no joy
cleared cmos(first step before anything else) replaced battery tried four ps's three amd approved one generic 300w just about drop kicked into the wall lots of cussing until the dogs wouldnt come near me smoked cigs drank mdew and cussed some more triple checked what few jumpers ther are all ok

the weird thing is will allow me to continue until i make any adjustments in soft menu the have to pull plug to reboot.it will allow me to do anything in bios till i save changes then wont come back on...any clues? really need some help guys..thanks

This sounds stupid but you did recheck the bios for the correct cpu settings? Other than that all I can suggest is to try different ram and then a different cpu if you have one. It's possible the cpu may be toast. Cooling is good for it?

I had a similar problem trying a dead tbird a friend sent me. It was thought if I underclocked it maybe it'll work. I got as far as changing it in the bios and once saved it would not reboot. As you did I had to pull the plug to reboot. Gave up on that cpu. good luck :)
