I think peeps are getting into different kinds of ugrading. Dual display, case modding, cordless desktops, SMP, etc. That ain't no turtle you packin' there tho! You gotta love the twin 19" displays on a Matrox. I miss my G400 Max. :( That was prolly the hardest thing for me ever to sell. I got it from Tom ( RacerX ) and had it for close to 2 years. It's ashame they bailed out on the 3D side of things because for 2D, dual display and rock solid drivers, they couldn't be beat.

These days, I'm more inclined to hang on to a config that's trouble free . I try to convince myself that it's ok to skip a mainboard or video card product cycle. The problem is, as the "green" in the coffee can starts to add up, I start window shopping and once I do that I usually fall prey to some of the newer technology that's available. It's that little voice that starts whipsering........."buy, buy, buy !! " :lol

I upgraded the mobo and processor at the end of last summer to replace my Celeron 300a@450 and it already looks old! Still runs virtually everything well (RTCW is the only game that has truly brought it to it's knees :D )

Athlon 1.13Ghz Retail, retail heatsink, my own goop, haven't tried overclocking yet
Microstar K7T-Turbo R (MS-6330 ver 3.0)
128MB Mushkin Value PC133
128MB Zeus PC133 from Mcglen.com
ATi Radeon 32MB DDR Retail, overclocked to 183/183, not very stable above this
Viewsonic E773, .25DPI, invar shadow mask, 1152x768x32bppx75Hz
IWill Side 2935 UW SCSI Controller
3Com 3C905B-TX 10/100 NIC
NetGear FA310TX 10/100 NIC
Creative Soundblaster Live! Value
IBM 13.5GB 22GXP 7200rpm HD
Pioneer 303S SCSI slot loading DVD
LG 40x IDE cdrom (to keep the wear down on my DVD)
Antec PP-303X 300W Powersupply
Generic mid-tower
2 case fans, one intake at bottom front, 1 exhaust right above the AGP
Microsoft Sidewinder Precision Pro
Creative PC Works Speakers (suck ass, I had my roommates Klipsch's last year :( )
Epson Stylus 480 USB printer
Black IBM Preferred Keyboard
OEM Microsoft Intellimouse w/wheel
Everglide Mousepad
HP 5P SCSI scanner
Iomega Zip100 SCSI drive
All wires neatly arranged and hidden to provide good airflow and easy accessibility, the inside looks VERY clean

I've got the HD running off the onboard Promise RAID controller as it does a lot better than VIA's onboard IDE. Also I'm running Win2k, with the latest VIA drivers, latest released ATI drivers, and the system is ROCK SOLID. No lockups unless I start overclocking the Radeon more. :D Pretty soon I'll get the urge for the processor too, but right now I'm too busy with school.
