Hmmm, that's quite an OC.
My new video card that should arrive here today, is a 9800 Pro 256 card and hopefully with it on my present system, I'll be able to finish Painkiller. My present card can't handle that game anymore, too many crashes and video problems.
As for "the best AMD cpus", check out the specs on their newest one, the FX55:

I have yet to see its posted base cpu speed as it seems that AMD doesn't like posting those #s very freely compared to Intel but I wonder how it compares to Intels 3.4 800mhz 2mb extreme? Both are currently very pricey BUT perhaps when I decide to do this upgrade, they'll become more affordable?

Opinions wanted for BEST kick-arse CPU, mobo, ram combo, Intel or AMD?

Athlon FX55 is running at 2.6GHz. You want to know how it compares to that P4 3.4EE? Just take a lookie here > http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/sh ... spx?i=2249

I guess the 2.6GHz real speed is about as high as the current AMD dies will clock, so very lil headroom for the highend version ... but the lowend based on the same technology have some real headroom to eventually go that high too (see the 3000+ numbers).

Now that I finally broke down and upgraded my video card to a ATI Radeon 9800GT Pro 256 mb that plays all games perfectly at the highest res with everything set to high, I'm in no rush to run out and replace my existing cpu, mobo and ram and can easily wait a few more months (if need be) until that cpu becomes affordable.
