Thats what I like about this place. You can start a thread on low level formatting and it turns into a how to smash a HDD, workman's comp thread. :D :D

man, that sux, going out and bashing perfectly good hdds what a waste. would be better to use the prog the cia uses to wipe hdds then sell/ use the hdds. i hate seeing good eqipment goto waste like that.

Oh yeah it sucked smashing HDD's that were 1.2 - 1.6 gig in size... I did keep a couple for myself i could care less whats on them anyways. This was back when 4-6 gigs were the big boys out and 1.2's and 1.6's were still very useful. And then the thing was no critical data was stored on the workstations anyways. I probably smashed well over 200 of them little suckers too :) Good thing was most were only 500-800 megs anyways so... Image

Smashed? They make excellent targets for skeet shooting. Alls you need is a fool to toss them in the air :D

If you skeet shoot with the people i do... you don't want to be anywhere near them when they have a gun in their hands :D evern 50ft away behind the truck is too close :)

I know those people! Thats why I dont skeet shoot anymore. The skeets are safer than the skeetees. :)
