P2-300 temps
I keep hearing a very faint "beep" every once in a while from the IBM ThinkPad with a P2-300. I installed Mother Board Monitor to watch the temps, the beeping starts at 122 degrees F. The temp climbs up to 129 processor and 115 system. (54C/46C) Isn't that a little high for a P2-300 ? I took this thing apart and it's clean inside. The itty bitty ti. . . . .umm . . . fan comes on somewhere around 127F. If a game is being played, it will lock up tight and require a power switch type reboot.(off/on) Sitting idle the tenp slowly drops.

Does seem high for a P2 but temp sensors are notoriously unreliable, and lappies are very different.
There's probably some kind of head disipatation system - usually a copper pipe, that draws heat away from the CPu and to other metal parts of the case. Make sure it's making contact with the CPU or it's heatsink, and if need be apply some heatsink compound to the comtact point.
