Check out the picture! Look at the spelling, POWEr M@NaGenent and that only the beginning. I reinstalled the bios and video card drivers and no luck I had some banding a few weeks ago so I reistalled the video drivers and the problem went away but is back tonite. WTF has gone wrong. Let me know if anyone know whats up, Im going to try a few more tricks.
Thanks Rooster
There are other things that can cause this though.
- Make sure your card is fully seated in it's slot.
- If you're overclocking the CPU, make sure you have the AGP divider set properly. Many video cards do not like to see an AGP bus that's far off frequency.
- Even if you're not overclocking, check your AGP divider. You AGP needs to be set to run at 66Mhz or as close as possible to it.

No way a video driver can do ANYTHING about that - it's corrupt while he's in the BIOS menu - that's BEFORE Windows boots and loads any drivers.
It's a hardware issue. Usually bad ram. Some screwed up AGP setting in BIOS might also possibly cause it (doubt it's the situation in this case though, but what the heck). In the motherboard's BIOS menu, make sure that "Assign IRQ to VGA" is enabled and that both "Video BIOS Caching" and "Video Ram Shadow" are disabled. Set "AGP Aperature" to 64.
Also it's also possible that there's some dirt or corrosion on the AGP slot connector.
Lastly, you might try to flash the bios on the video card.
I really think you have a bad ram chip on that card though.

Thanks FP, I think that the settings are correct, but I can nolonger tell whats what! and it's getting worse. I ran 3dmark 2001 and it was all screwed up, I could see wire frames, wrong textures, breaks in the pixles and the wrong colors. Im going to try a different video card. This is the first Video card to fail on me and would have to be my Radeon 8500.
Well keep in mind it should be under warranty. If the other card works okay give them a call and arrange for an RMA.
Keep in mind that they'll probably want you to have it installed in the computer when you call - they usually want to walk through a few tests with you to make sure you really have a deader.
