Strangest Thing with Asus CUSL2-C

Post by Twisted Evil »

Has anyone tried to install the driver package from the motherboard CD onto Win 2000 (w/ Service Pack 2) with an Asus CUSL2-C?

Whenever I attempt the install I get a nice BSOD and it corrupts the Windows install, I have to repair Win 2000. I get a stop error after the BSOD reboots, saying invalid drive.

I tried going to the Asus page, but there isn't anything there that's useful.

The same package worked fine under Win 98SE.

This is annoying me because it seems I am getting poor performance in Quake III and every device is running off of IRQ 9 (I think this is a bug in Win 2000, but I'm guessing these drivers should fix it). Although my HD is running at ATA100 speeds according to SiSoft...

win2k runs IRQ 9 to be ACPI compliant. it's normal. I've seen it on IRQ 10 as well, but only once.

Nope.

Nothing was running during the installation of the drivers too. Well, except my internet connection.
