Now for the monitor.....

Post by juker »

Now that my new Dell is on the way I need to find a decently priced 19" monitor.

Any suggestions/experiences for around $450?

ViewSonic PF790. I really like this one. You should go to your local Best buys, Comp USA or whatever and check out the monitors. That way you can see and compare different models.

Good luck.

My nephew has the Viewsonic that d_b mentioned, and he got it at Bbuy for $450 after $50 rebate.
That's been awhile ago, but they do run deals on it occasionally.

I've got a Sony w/flat screen, but it's not "perfect flat" like the viewsonic. And to be honest, I almost wish I gotten the viewsonic. Could'a saved myself a couple hundred, and the image quality looked pretty fine to me too.

My dad's Samsuns 955DF amazes me. I like my Viewsonic PS790, but there's something about that Samsung's picture that is really nice :)

Beware of KDS I have a VS-195e while the monitor looks good and has good picture quality and was cheap, I paid $300. KDS has some quality control problems mine died after about 6 months of use. At least they have good warrenty service and lucky for me they had a location close by so getting a new one was no problem.

I have the Mitsubishi diamond pro 900u. THis is the best 19" moniter I've ever worked on. I like it better than the sony trintron fp. Sometimes you can find these on ubid for $350 or so.

you should have ordered the P1110 Trinitron from Dell as well. I have one, and it's super nice.

And the winner is....19" Sony Trinitron from Dell. 3-year warranty for $380 (shipping included) :P . Let the games begin.

Thanks all for the help.

That is 380 total or a 380 upgrade from a lower end monitor, they ususally do pricing like that so I would at least check it out.

Toal price, not an upgrade price.
