weird mouse problem in ESO beta

Post by wvjohn »

Wife has a logitech G300 mouse - I installed ESO beta on her computer and when you log in you get no mouse (no cursor) - it's a standard dell I7 box win 8 ATI 6870 - tried disabling the mouse software, reinstalling game, etc. no luck. All you get is a character that is spinning at about 30 rpm. Escape to standard settings menu and the mouse works fine. gotta be something stupid. I'm going to try removing all the logitech software and rebooting it with a vanilla mouse. I remember that I had a hard time getting that mouse to work in Skyrim, but no idea what I did to fix it. Tried the Skyrim template on the mouse and that didn't work. web search shows a couple of people with the same issue but no fix

I guess I should also update the video drivers and see if there is updated mousy driver as well.

anyone have any other ideas?

Game is fun, going to try to get to lvl 10 for pvp tonight or tomorrow.

turns out it was a Win8 issue...imagine that

Upon login, my character keeps spinning around and there is no way to control it.

#1. For Windows 8 users: Upgrading to Windows 8.1 has shown to resolve this issue.

#2. Right-click on the ESO launcher icon and click "Properties." Select the "Compatibility" tab. Select "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings." Click "OK."

Repeat this process on eso.exe

BTW this game is nowhere near ready for primetime. during this beta everyone on the euro server is having entire game deleted when they try to start up - forced to reload ....

there are a ton of bugs in the quests - not getting respawn on quest stuff if people are in the area....

It will be good when they get it ironed out - but this beta is buggier than the last one and they have a release set in a couple of weeks.
