Mini-Review(s) Logitech h400 + h800 wireless headphones.

Post by wvjohn »

I originally picked up a pair of H400s because I wanted something that was light and I was tired of rolling my office chair over the cord. They fit nicely in my laptop case, the sound was good and the battery life was about 4-6 hours. My wife started playing GW2 and she didn't have headphones, and she doesn't like heavy headsets so I let her use them. She really liked them and you know the rest. The range on them was decent - always good in the same room, but pretty much line of sight in other places.

I upgraded to the h800 because they had longer range and bluetooth for phone. My hearing is really bad and I don't like wired phone headsets. The sound is about the same as the 400s, but the range seems better for the PC and the bluetooth works very well. there is + - on the sound on bluetooth. I like being able to set the phone down and just talk and walk around.

My only concern about these is how long they will last. Power is via a mini-usb port (comes with a cable so you can use at PC when battery is low) but it plug seems a little chintzy. Also the switch for selecting source - off, bluetooth, pc - feels kind of lightweight. We'll see.

They are very comfortable to wear, the mike is on a boom on the right side that swings up and down. The PC interface is a little USB stub which contains the drivers, etc. , and is easy to move from computer to computer.

I would recommend these based on the performance, which to me seems good. We'll see how sturdy they turn out to be. They run about $40 and $65 respectively. I got mine from Amazon.
