I've been having an issue where if I shut down my Windows 7 computer, it will stick at the "Shutting Down" but never send the signal to kill the power. It doesn't occur all the time so I've put up with it. Today, I decided to try a bios update. Upon rebooting, checking settings, and starting windows, Windows replaced my X-fi Titanium Pro sound card driver with the default one and not the one from Creative. It doesn't work properly and the front panel doesn't work. I installed the driver from Creative's website and all seemed well. I started to play Skyrim and noticed static. Then, after exiting and stating Firefox, I could still hear static from the speakers while navigating. So I uninstalled all Creative software and tried the newest beta driver from Creative. Same issues. After an hour of messing with it, I gave up and removed the card and went to onboard audio. Since I purchased this card in November, I tried creating an RMA on Creative's Support website on to get greeted with an error creating request. I tried this twice, once in Firefox and once in IE. I click on "contact us" but can't find any way to actually contact them.
I'm finished with Creative. If my Prelude 7.1 wasn't millimeters away from my bottom video card I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place.
I hate Creative

I also thought the Creative sounded better but it's just not worth the hassle to get it to work. I never had an issue my my Prelude 7.1 with contains the same chip. However, Auzen writes their drivers. If the heatsinks on my 560ti hawks weren't so massive, I would still be using it. I'm satisfied with the on board so far. It doesn't have the low hiss I was getting using the Creative.normalicy wrote:They lost their edge when Vista came out & never recovered. Sadly, I'm an owner of a Titanium as well & have had issues galore too. Odd since my on-board has never had issues (though admittedly, the creative sounds better).
