Card reader problem

Post by Koo Koo Mouse »

Hi All!
I have a Dell Insperon 580. Any one have a proplem with a built-in card reader? Mine just won't recognize the card anymore. Light turns green but windows doesn't do anything and I don't see the drive in explorer. Weirder yet I pull the card out and the green light stays on for about 30 to 60 seconds and goes out. Tried different SC/HC and SC cards, same thing.
So for I've reinstalled the Ibex peak H57 chipset driver, no help. Now I see theres a AMT heci I can reinstall. I'll try that next but not a home right now.
Thanks Just wondering.

I've seen plenty of card readers just die.

Sometimes card readers just go bad. I ended up buying this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820223088

It costs $7.00 and I haven't had any problems.
