Should have it tonight according to UPS tracking, and they run about 4PM here, and 10AM now
Some reason Newegg calls it a 23.6" monitor, but a review said it said 24" on box and measured with a tape as a 24", go figure? I looked at the picture close and the box newegg shows does say 24" on it.
Any opions on which is better, ACER or HannsG?
I have 2 Acer 19" a square and a widescreen and was kinda happy with those, but some reviews are not so good on new ones with power buttons breaking screen problems etc.. and a few bad RMA support type stories also.
My ACERs though are not perfect! The widescreen lost the VGA input in just a couple months, would show no signal detected, but works great still on DVI so I had not RMA'd it. No dead pixels.
This square Acer 19" has been great, but when the other system, for internet went down we started using this system. Now this Acer is getting burn in from the Firefox browser and it's only been about 6 months or so we been using it for internet!
Burn in I mean it's got white/gray streaks at top left where all the menu Url etc.. stuff would be then the lines fade out to normal as it moves to the right. Far left is whiteish streaks fading as it gets near center to normal.
Often not too noticeable, but then it's a bit of pain when doing things like 3D art and having streaks in images I make.
Watching a movie I don't notice it much and other things are near fine, but art work or desktop is annoying streaks at times.
The HannsG had all good reviews though only 30 of them, looks like might be a 24" and was only a couple dollars more than the 23" Acer when I ordered it.
I did a quick tape measure guess and I think maybe it will be more viewable area than my TV LOL
I do not watch TV, only movies on DVD and VHS still. My TV is a 20" square old style so when watching most movies which are widescreen now I think my viewable area drops to a 12" LOL
Ok, maybe a 16" with those danged black bars. Anyway I kinda wonder if this widescreen 23-24" will actually be better for movies than my 20" square TV?
