Yup - hottest place on earth. Well, almost :) August and July can be testing to say the least - great place to live though, and it's only really a few weeks that it becomes unbearable. The rest of the year is fantastic...

Looks like a neat place to live (lots of culture & architecture). Funny, when I checked it out on Wikipedia, the one of the first things they mention is that it's the warmest place in Europe.

...lots of really nice food. People here know how to live. They value get togethers, just sit on a terrace, have lunch, a few beers, then a coffee, then a whiskey and just let the day go by and enjoy life. People are not so stressed out here, they have a far more relaxed view of life. Money is not so important, what's more important is to make the most of what you have: time, friends, family - it's a nice way to live.

Not everything is perfect of course, it has its downsides. When you need something done it can be very frustrating.

I'm German, I choose to live here, I don't have to. So I do things my way, but I like to participate in the things that are fun. I don't see any reason to live anywhere else, and I've lived in various different countries.

The heat can be incredible, but it's only a few weeks a year. My parents lived in Austin/Texas for a year, it was similar there. What's worse here is that it doesn't come down at night. And after 3 or 4 nights with temperatures that most countries don't have in the mi day heat it gets very exhausting.

Still, I'm not complaining. I've lived in Belgium and England in regions where it rains all year long, for weeks on end. Give me heatstroke any time before that lol :)

Yeah, I've noticed that some countries have different attitudes about life. It was a bit of a shock when I went to England/France how different they were from America (and each other) in attitude. I kinda wish we were more relaxed here. Stress is the name of the game (especially with the economy in the dumps).

Yeah, I kinda thought that your highs were only average compared to what I've been through (stayed in Lake Havasu for a while & it felt like an oven even with air conditioning). I'd take rain any day over heat myself.
