I hooked up 2 250GB SATA drives to a PCI card in an XP system. Installed the driver and everything was good. Told Windows to create a dynamic volume spanning the 2 drives and after 2 hours of just saying "formatting" it finally shows 1%! At this rate it will take 2 years to format the drives. What would cause this?
System is a P4 2.8/512RAM XPPro and a SIIG PCI SATA card.
** PROBLEM SOLVED **
One of the drives had bad blocks. Swapped drives all is good.
