What is your oldest hardware component?

Post by Executioner »

In your current rig? Mine:
1. Plextor 12/4/32 SCSI Plextor. I bought it back in 1998. To bad it does not have a counter as to the number of burns I've done with this classic CD burner. Still works to this day.
2. I have a Plextor Ultra Plex 40x SCSI CD reader. It replaced my 32x Plextor reader that died about 6 months ago. I bought this one as a spare at a real good price, and kept it in my closet. I think the mfg's date is 2000.

The Plextor 12/4/32 burner has been through Win95b, Win98, and XP. I believe I shelled out big bucks for these items including the SCSI card back in 1998. I might have spent ~$300+, and I think the SCSI card was used.

56k modem that was pulled out of a 75mhz computer. I think this dates back from like 1997. Only used it because i came home from college, and had to use dialup for a month...
Have no fear, the BEEF is here.

Floppy drive in ANY of my rigs. I use them until they die and they run forever. I think the one in my main rig is probably 6 years old.

8RDA+ was a ROCK assuming you didn't get one with defective capacitors. But if you did, you would have found out about it by now.

Yah, I took a look yesterday and I didn't see any of the tell tale signs. So I'm super pleased. once I decide on which PCI-E AIW card to buy I will be passing this rig onto the fiance and getting back to my A64 3200+ lol.. :)

Been there... done that. Cooked up pretty good, but I did not loose anything other than the mobo.

Oldest part.... probably my trackball. At least five or six years old. Inside the pc, is the floppy drive.

It's not on my PC, but my wife's PC uses the 19" Viewsonic GS790 monitor I bought back in 1999. I has worked flawlessly for 7 years. (knocks on wood)
