cleaning PC

Post by RubberDuckie »

Is there anything that will CLEAN unused space on a HDD while keeping files. Example, I have cleaned temp files and deleted files on a HDD. I would like to make the files gone for good but keep the remaining undeleted files in place. Basically making deleted files unrecoverable while keeping the OS operational.

Thanks

Eraser 5.8 is what I use. http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4221

There's an option to erase unused disk space.

I use cyberscrub for cleaning hd's that are being recycled - you can also wipe slack space

Another vote for Eraser. Like FP said it will clean your free space and also give you the option to totally delete files so they can not be recovered as you go
