quick heatsink question

Post by Shadow250 »

i am seriously thinking of buying an msi neo 2 and a amd 64 3200+ combo, but im not sure what cooler to use. i wanna go overkill for future upgrades and have this :Linky in mind. it says its for socket 754 and the board is a 939 thermaltakes seems to suggest that 754 and 939 use the same mounting solution cuz it just says fits amd k8. would it fit and cool pretty good on the above mentioned setup?

I think that the Thermal Right Xp-120 looks like it would cool alot better then the TT one. put a good 92 mm fan on it and it should be a kick ass cooler. yea its like 20 bux more.. but i got a sp97 on my rig and its nice and quiet and cool.

I never liked the stuff TT made. And that one looks like any other HS with heat pipes. square and not thinking out side of the box. With heat pipes you dont need to have that big a heat sink or for that matter a normal shaped HS. thats why i like the thermal right one. looks like it hangs over the SB and that should help cool it too.
