Post by blingboi »

hmm, I'm not sure if it's possible, but I've been out of the latest hardware knowledge for quite a while..

I have a Radeon 9600 Pro that I will keep for this next setup.

What I would like to know if any of you have seen a decent mobo/cpu(2gigs or higher?)/ and 512 megs of DDR ram.. my total budget would be $150 at the most..

I'm not sure if you can get all 3 with $150, but I guess I could give it a shot.

This will probably used for World of Warcraft, I played the beta on a Duron 900, 512 megs of SDRAM and everywhere else besides Ironforge(you would know about this if you played WoW) it ran decent.

Of course the settings were all on low.. but I'm not a picky guy there, I'd just like the game to run smoother.

THanks sirs.

So mobo, cpu and ram.

best i know of is for ram:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 424&DEPA=0 $79

or:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 006&depa=0 $71

mobo:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 045&depa=0 $51

cpu:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 505&depa=0 $62

or:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDe ... 211&depa=0 $73

With the above you're looking at closer to $200.

If you can find a barton 2500+ on the forums, they will usually easily overclock to 3200+ speed. That would save you some moola. Basically, $51 for that mobo (I use one) is a great deal, now if you can find a ram/cpu combo for around 100, possibly on the forums.

That'as the best I know of. Maybe another will have a better solution. Good luck. :)

thanks greatly sir, that mobo looks exactly like that I want.

And I see what you're getting to with the ram and cpu.. not sure what I can do though.
