Review: Sennheiser HD 212 pro headphones

Post by LTrain »

One Liner: :p :p :p :ping buy these headphones!

More text: These are awesome headphones, which they had better be for $50(amazon). I live with the folks, so a set of real speakers is no good for when I want to listen to the parno and death metal music at the "proper" volume, so headphones is how I go. I've got a soundblaster audigy 2 soundcard, with the 5 1/4" bay controller unit. I plug the headphones into that.

So far I've been mainly listening to all kinds of music, no gaming yet. My gaming has been restricted to Fight Night 2004 on PS2 as of late. The bass response from these headphones is incredible. I actually had to turn it down on the soundcard's mixer. They fit my head fine - they are adjustable, have a foam pad on the top band, and the ear peices are very comfortable. The earpeices also tilt to form fit to your head. The longest I've worn them is about 2 hours, and I hardly noticed. There is a bit of pressure on your ears, but its nothing uncomfortable.

From what I can tell, these are a very quality product. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for semi-high end headphones. They sure blow away my old $20 AIWA's!

Larry

Sennheiser makes some great headphones. I have a pair of the HD-570s that retail for $149.99 but Amazon has for around $90. Definately a great buy. I use them for college and am glad that I bought them. They surround my ear and are "vented" so your ears don't really get sweaty with heavy usage. I've worn them for long periods of time, gamed in them, and listened to multiple types of music. Very good headphones.

Yup, Sennheiser is great. See the headphones in my avatar? They're the HD-650's, their current top-of-the line audiophile headphones. Not cheap ($350) but they sound better than the $3000 pair of speakers we have at home.
Welcome to the machine.

I'm actually in the market for a pair of headphones. Good timing :D

I've been eyeing the grado sr60's, but it may be a problem getting my hands on them here in Canada. I've been compiling a list and sennheiser seem to be popping up everywhere.
