Sound card problem

Post by d_b »

I have a turtle beach santa cruz sound card. I recently got a dragon plus motherboard. Eveytime I do a cold boot I lose the sound card and have to uninstall the drivers, reboot, install the drivers and reboot agian. When restarting windows there isn't a problem. When the card was in a Iwill XP i didn't have a problem.

I have tried different drivers, every PCI slot and a little voodoo. None of that works. I would use the onboard sound but have found that the C-media dirvers suck.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Dan

Actually I've never had a problem with C-Media drivers. You using the generic Windows drivers or the ones from C-Media's site? Generic drivers work fine though.

What problems you having with it?

I don't know if this had anything to do with it but I reinstalled the via 4 in 1's. The Santa Cruz works now. Strange.

With Cmedia I could never get the rear speakers working. Oh, well, all is good.

Thanks FP :)
