Actually I only need one for sharing the monitor only. Is there one out and about that offers no video degradation ?
Is this one any good ? http://www.linkskey.com/kvm/lkv-m02.htm
Where to get a decent KVM ?

No video degredation? No. There's ALWAYS video degradation through a KVM (except, maybe, if you spend $1000+ on a professional grade one).
If you plan on using the display at anything over 800x600 at 75Hz, quality will suffer. Not something I'd want to stare at all day on my main workstation.
Must it be a monitor or can you use VNC to remote the other system in a window?

There's really not much to VNC other than downloading it and installing it. There are some basic options to play around with, but it works fine out of the box.
There is some documentation on their site here: http://www.realvnc.com/documentation.html
And yes.. it is similar to Remote Desktop. I prefer RD to VNC for LAN stuff, but VNC is definitely the to go over WAN as it is lighter weight .. or feels that way anyways..
