UPS Question

i now have a smart pro 700 ups that has 2 6v 10 amp hour batts hooked in series to make 12 v for the inverter. could i saflely hook 2 12v 10 amp hour batts in parelell at the connection points to supply the inverter . with double the amp capacity without damaging the inverter or 6v batts?

never mind, it over heats while charging with xtra batts. no damage cuz i was watching it.
