Strangness in Sys properties.

Post by d_b »

Why do I have a device listed in system properties labled "AVX CD/DVD-ROM SCSI CdRom Device? I have no such device. all I have are a Pioneer DVD rom and a Lite On Burner. There are no SCSI devices in this system. also under SCSI and RAID controllers there is a listing for VDEVAX SCSI controller. This mama board is a Iwill XP333 non raid version.

I suspect this is the reason some games (MoHAA BreakThrough) wont load. i get the error message to insert correct cd. I just installed the game so i no the cd is good. I have tried both the dvd rom and Lite on but it makes no difference.

Also i uninstalled the devices from system Properties, rebooted and had the same results.

HELP!!!!!

Thanks

Not sure this is what you have going on but I have seen some burning software load a virtual drive for storing and burning images from and these drives show up in the device mgr. Clone CD does it and I believe Alcohol 120% does it as well.

ANY virtual CD app like Alchohol or Daemon tools will add a virtual CD device driver.

But what would make every cd drive appear as a scsi drive when it's not?
