What ya think?

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Well, I'm in the process of building another computer. Aren't we all? Tell me what you guys think.

Case : IN WIN S-Series S564
Mobo : Epox 8RDA+ $83
CPU : AMD XP1700+ TBred B $49, I may go with a Barton 2500+ IF money allows $89.
RAM : Some Kind of PC3200 w/Silver Heat Spreaders $89-$120
HSF : Tt Volcano 9 CoolMod $Free *won at the lan*
Vid Card : Ti4400 $105 (Thanx Ed)
HD : 80GB Maxtor 7200RPM w/3yr Warantee $74
CD-RW : LiteOn 52x24x52 $46 Black
DVD : $30 Black Slot Load $54
Silver Roudned Cables : $2.79x2

Is there anything I'm leaving out? Anybody know where I can get these things cheaper? I used price watch to find all my prices. What about the video card? I can't see splurging too much more than that, but I'd like to be able to enjoy some of the upcoming games at better res than 800x600 ;) TIA eGo

I've got an 8RDA+ in my new rig. NICE mobo - very happy with it. :)

Stay away from Geil. Their ram RARELY performs at rated speeds...stick with crucial or kingston/corsair instead. I'd also spend $50 more on the video card and get something much better..the 9700 non-pro. You can find it cheap here .
Welcome to the machine.

I'll second that. Have read tons of bad stuff about the Geil ram and no good.

I won the case, and it's really nice.. I'll have to look around for more ram.. If I have to spend $30-$40 more for some good 3200 w/heat spreaders there's no way for me to go with the barton. As far as the video card, the one I'm looking at claims to be clocked at 400/400, and I really don't have the extra money to spend on one. If there is that much of a difference, I'll just spend less, and get another Saphire 9000 for $56 and wait to buy another video card like most others. eGo

I've a Ti4400 that can clock Ti4600 memory speeds if you're interested... $105 shipped.. saves you a lil' bit.

Silver Fans?

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Anybody know if these can be found? Or even Black w/Aluminum fins? I'm fixing to do a google.. But if anybody knows a link off hand.. I'd appreciate it.. ;) eGo

***edit*** I found some here'

http://www.jab-tech.com/catalog/product ... n_aoc.html

I'm looking to go with a black and silver theme for the entire case if you hasn't already guessed.. ;) eGo I'm just trying to decide what color lights to put with it as there isn't much that won't "clash" in my opinion with the black and silver.. Though, I may not be putting a window in this case so it won't matter, just want it to look nice if I ever decide to.. Ya know? eGo
