My trusty Media Player 6.4 has finally let me down. I have a WMV file made in Move Maker 2 on an XP machine. I assume it's in WMV8 format.
MP6 won't play it - it looks on the internet for a codec and bombs. Media Player 8 plays it fine - so does the RealOne player for that matter.
Fucking Microsoft and their planned obsolence.
I HATE Media Player 8. Anyone know a fix for this?
Any way to play a WMV 8 file in Media Player 6.4?

I haven't tried these:
http://www.globalshareware.com/Software ... ontrol.htm
Sounds like it's a mpeg4 format.

and this one might do the trick:
