Ok.. Here's the deal.. My HDs are both set to DMA 5, which is good. And my Lite-On 48x12x48 is the only thing on the 2nd channel, and I have it set to use DMA if available.. But it's using PIO... I can't find my documentation to see if the drive just doesn't support DMA? I mean I'm not complaining about the speed, because it's plenty fast, but I'm wondering if it could be faster if DMA was to be enabled. I'm guessing XPro would use it if it was there? I dunno.. lol.. Any thought appreciated.. eGo

Probably doesn't help you out, but I'm running Win2k too and my 52x Lite-On CD-RW shows it's running in Ultra DMA mode, so Im pretty sure it supports DMA.

Well Well Wll..
Thanx for that link Judg3, that fixed the problem. Probably could have done it wthout deleting the 2nd channel and so-on.. And just changing the setting from atuo to CD-ROm in the bios.. Thanx again.. eGo
