compaq 1245 lappy modem probs

In my first thread about this machine, i had a problem with it not booting at all, now that i've installed windows 2k pro it works nicely, and all is well, except the modem that it has, I downloaded a generic lucent driver for it, and for some reson, it still doesn't work! it says that it's not activated! how do i activated? or what does this error really mean?

It can be a real problem find the right driver for a laptop. Have you tried Compaq's website first?

If Compaq doesn't post one, a good place to look is here:

Do a search for your laptop model. Keep in mind that an XP driver should also work for 2K.
