Gutted a bricked Linksys wireless router...

I bricked it a long time ago with a flash that went bad for whatever reason. I plugged it in to make sure it didn't decide to come back from the dead and then tore it apart. There was a PCMCIA style card in side. I plugged the card into my Dell Inspiron laptop and the card will not start. It is seen as a Linksys PCMCIA wireless card and I have the drivers for one installed because I have one but it still won't work. Does anybody know if it will work with some playing around, see someone else get one working somewhere, or is the voltage requirement possibly different for these cards?
