Converting IDE ATA 100/133 drives to SCSI drives

Post by canton_kid »

Don't know if this should be in software or hardware, but I seemed to have converted my ATA 100/133 dirves to SCSI drives! Also I just went from 1 DVD -r drive to about 6 of them! But I still only have 1 CD rw, but they all are reported as SCSI drives also. Including the 5 that don't exist!

WHAT!!!!

My WD 80 gig ATA 100 and Maxtor 60 GIG ATA 133 are showing up as SCSI drives and so are the RW drives on my Iwill XP333 after installing drivers I downloaded from Iwill.

Is this normal? Is it just 2k reporting the Iwill drivers wrong? Is this going to frie my system?
How would I even start to fix something like this?? I did delete the 5 false DVD -r drives from device manager.

Before installing the new drivers Ver 1.07 MS kept installing their own driver and my drives were only at
UDMA 66. System seems stable and very fast, but is it correct reading the drives as SCSI??
