2GHz Celeron running at 2.66GHz ??

Post by swinada »

It is possible that my 2 GHz Celeron Chip is running at 2.66 GHz?
That is the number that shows up when i right click on "My Computer" and view the advanced tab.
Is there small utility programs to download that would check things like that. Processorspeed. coretemperature, fan speed......
I'm sure there is, but im pretty new to building and tweeking computers. This is my first try.
Thanks for any advice and help, links.. :)

Thanks.....
according to Sandra and WCPUID it is running at 2.66. Is that safe? The chip temperature is only around 90 F.
Sandra also has a "Burn In Test", is that safe to use? What could go wrong or get damaged during that process?

a 2 gig celly has a mult of 20 and a FSB of 100 sounds like its running 133mhz FSB and if the thing is running stable i wouldn't mess with it... you just got 660mhz for free :D

yes I am running at 133mhz FSB, so far it is stable, as far as i can tell. What would be signs to look for to prefent "bad" things. Freeze ups? blue screens...? or worse meltdown. Chip temperature is between 65 and 90 F. But i didnt do any intensive work on it yet.

Saw some reviews on the newer 478 celerons and they go up real easy so it looks like it got setup wrong but works OK, dont touch it.

The reviewers sure didn't like that celeron, even at 3.0gz!
