Hi guys Merry Xmas to you all!
Tonight on christmas eve of all days our 17 inch ACER monitor seems to have died. It just sits there with the green power light sort of blinking dark and light.
I cant get it to come on in 2 computers. any ideas? is there a way to reset it or anything?
there is no picture even on boot up.
thanks for any tips

Since you tried it on another system, I'd say it's dead.
If it's a decent monitor then it might be worth fixing. 9 times out of 10 it's just a blown power transistor in the flyback section.
Take it to a small Mom & Pop TV repair shop (just bring the monitor - they have a test box they can connect to it). If you bring it in on a slow day (Wed early morning for instance) then they might have time to look at it on the spot and tell you whether it's worth fixing.
A small mom & pop shop probably won't charge you to give you an estimate. If it's just a transistor it's a $5 part plus an hour of labor. You might get away with a $50 repair job if it's a nice shop.

Might also be worth calling the manufacturer to see if it's under warranty. Some of them have 3 year warranties. If it's a good enough monitor it's worth paying shipping.
