Maxtor RMA

Post by eGoCeNTRoNiX »

Ok.. Ok.. I already know most of you guys are against Maxtor. But check this out! I bought a 60GB Maxtor off of Dethman about a month and half ago, well, shortly after I got it it started to CLICK! AHHHH! Well, sent it in for RMA about 2 weeks ago. And today, I got my NEW HD back. They sent me an 80GB ATA/133 HDD!! WOO HOO!! Now that is certainly worth the $67 I paid Dethman for the HD.. What do you guys think? he he he!! eGo

***edit*** was a 133 not a 100

Actually I've always preferred maxtor hard drives over any other and have had my best luck with maxtor hd's. The few I did rma they sent back quickly. But I never got a larger hd as you did. Congrats! :)

I prefer maxtor, so what do I do. I get one of those "best of the best" WD JB 8mb cache drives and it continually plays jungle bellz. A very annoying whine comes from it every 1-3 seconds. I did get an rma and they are sending a replacement first. But still...

Well, I too have always preferred Maxtor or WD.. However, I do have a SeaGate 80GB that's doing quite nicely. :) So Here's a dumb question.. Does the mobo automatically take advantage of the ATA133? TIA eGo

I've just RMA two Quantum drives to them. Maxtor seems to have one of the best RMA systems going. :)
