This is a NICE ONE too! An Asus A7V333.
My name's on the RMA, and the packing slip says it was RMA'd for a "Burned up AGP Slot" but I never sent one of these in for RMA.
That's TWO boards now that Asus has shipped me from their RMA dept that I have NO IDEA where they came from or why my name is on them.
Guess I should contact them. I would have kept the one but this is rediculous. I'm probably getting someone else's mobos and there will be hell to pay when someone figures it out.
I wonder what's going on? Is their RMA software having a breakdown, or is some disgruntled employee screwing around with it?

EGO: The board should be under warranty for a year. Go ahead and email their RMA dept. Send them the model and serial number and explain the problem with it and ask for an RMA.
You can fill out an RMA request form here: http://www.asusmall.com.tw/forms/complaint_TSD.asp
Or email them directly here: rma@asus.com
I've had no problems with Asus RMA's (although looks like someone else has since I've got his boards

Well I emailed their RMA dept and they got right back to me (heh... heh) like in 20 minutes.
Looks like some other customer is incorrectly using my customer number when he sends in his boards.
If it's a business and I'd kept my mouth shut I could have gotten dozens of them before they caught on
Bah, honesty is the best policy. Nor do I want someone suing me a year from now for the cost of a dozen mobos.

just a thought.
how could they have sued u, for their mistake? even so, they wouldn't dare risk it, for publicity sake. either way, u'da gotten free boards =)
but honesty does usually have the best results, lol.

Yep, (unfortunately) honesty is the best policy, FP.
You did the right thing. Even if it means you won't be getting free products!!
It'd be nice if they sent you some kind of 'thank you' freebie though.
Mail those suckas!
Cheers!

You wouldn't believe the trouble I had sending them back.
They couldn't send me a pre-paid return shipping label, so they GAVE ME THEIR UPS SHIPPING NUMBER (not too bright) and told me to ship it to them using that. Well that's fine except you can't do 3rd party shipping from a Mail Box Etc or an Office Depot and that's all I've got around here (Closest UPS office is 40 miles away and I'm NOT driving that far).
So then they want to arrange for a UPS pickup at my house and I tell them that I can't guarantee when I'm going to be here. I'm a self emplyed IT tech and even if I wanted to schedule a morning (which would cost me money) I couldn't guarantee a customer wouldn't have an emergency.
I recommended they arrange a pickup at my Mail Boxes Etc and they said that UPS wouldn't pick it up there. I said I seriously doubted it was a problem since a UPS truck goes there twice a day anyway, I have an account with the store, and since the owner is a client of mine they'd be willing to hold the package for a pre-paid UPS pickup.
After some hemming and hawing they said they'd try to schedule a pickup but they didn't think it would work.
UPS picked it up 2 days ago without a problem
I swear if they send any more mobos by mistake, I'm keeping them

You're honest enough to let them know they screwed up, and you wanna give them back their boards. They trust you.so they GAVE ME THEIR UPS SHIPPING NUMBER (not too bright)
I wouldn't give you my bank account transaction numbers (um...duh), but I sure as hell would do business with you, FP (if ever need be).

Great, I can't even get them to reply to a e-mail or phone calls about one of their video cards!
I have had problems with the poorly written software for the video out of the 7100 deluxe combo for over 2 years. I just gave up on it and went with a external scan converter. They never write back and if you call either you are on hold forever or you leave a message and they NEVER call you back!
This guy gets free boards!
Other than Asus being OVERATED and OVERPRICED, they have no clue what's going on!
