I am getting random popups at sites like yahoo and ebay I don't think they are doing, plus other places also.

How is it to shut that down?

I have 2000 pro. Is that a trash file on my system causing it or in the browser.

I have spybot AND Adaware, never have found the problem causing the popups.

Oh yea, I just deleted some add on in the downloaded files that was a bunch of garbled charactors,
Haven't got the popups yet tonight.

I have tiny personal firewall set up, and it has detected several attemps to enter my system from places I don't know on the net since then also.

Just got one now! Anyone know what this is?

Someone on address pD9E29168.dip.t-dialin.net [217.226.145.104] wants to send ICMP packet to your machine

It Just came in, for no apparent reason!
only this message box on PCA and a window with Yahoo open, but Idle for 30 minutes are running.

Man there HAS to be some kind of Spyware installed. I've never seen anything like that.

"Yes, penguins CAN fly. Want to see me fly? Shoot me in the face with a Desert Eagle..."
(My standard reply to people on game servers who tell me penguins can't fly) :)

It's the new rage in spamming. They just punch in a range of IPs and let the program go. It's gets your PC to display the messege through the messenger service. Like was stated earlier just disable the messenger service unless you need it. I'm sitting behind a linksys router so I have never seen one here but I have seen it elsewhere.

Do you run a firewall? Make sure port 137 incoming is blocked, I've been getting pages of requests to hit that and they all are rejected.
