Setting up RAID

Post by NascarFool »

Can RAID be setup without reinstalling WinXP ? Currently the boot drive is on IDE3 of the Highpoint controller. The motherboard is an Epox 8K3A+ . I have another matching drive to install and I plan to remove two other smaller drives.

No you'll have to reinstall the whole thing. Raid 0 sees the 2 hard drives as one big one. You'll have ot setup the array in the Raid bios. Cluster size i think default is 64k i ran 16k. You'll have toset the bios to boot to scsi for the raid drives or it will keep trying to boot to ide0 which will be assigned to a HDD connected to teh standard ide ports...
