The senfu I was sent for testing performed better than an sk6 when using the same fan. However I was sent another and it doesn't perform as well. Probably because the bottom needs lapping badly since it's a bit rough. I haven't done that though.

Those fans you named are all very loud, you sure you can tolerate that?

So if you must choose between those 2 particular heatsinks I'd choose the sk6. Both do need a lawnmower fan to get the best out of them. The senfu performs better with a more quiet fan.

Best bets for cooling now is the Ax-7, Cak II and the Volcano 7+. All are better than the sk6. The AX-7 comes with no fan so you'll need an 80mm one. Great thing is you don't have to get a loud fan to get darn good performance. See my review on it on our front page. Still testing the V7+ and it's heatsink is one of the best and it has a 3 speed adjustable fan. Only on low is it quiet though.

Mention pc abusers in the special comments section when ordering at kdc then you get $2 off the $27 price. ;)

My choice, the AX-7.

thx blade so you think AX-7 is the better than both right now right. hmmm what kind of fan do you think i should get for AX-7??

My processor is a Pentium 3 1.0ghz
right now i have dual dragon orb 3 fans cooling at 70500rpm. i have them at 1.25ghz do you think that by getting the AX-7 i might be able to get 1.3ghz. when i was running only one processor in there i could overclock it to 1.3ghz but no since i have dual cpu's i could only 1.25ghz tops with the dragon orbs. do you think getting the AX-7 will improve chances of obtaining higher speeds.

The AX-7 will do circles around those dragon orbs and not need to be nearly as loud.

I can't say if it'd help you reach 1.3, I hear sometimes running duals prohibits higher overclocking. But if cooling is a factor then the ax7 will help. Never ran a dual system though. All I can say for sure is the AX7 is the best for under 65 bux. The cooling you want is controlled by the fan you choose. I used 2 thermaltake fans. One ran at 3000 rpm and produces a rated 37cfm while the other at 5000 rpm and 45cfm. I am running the 37cfm one now because I prefer peace and quiet.

Going over the fans kdc has, that sunon for $7 will still do well. Naturally one that does more cfm will cool even more. Just depends how loud you wish to go. :)

I have a SK6 w/ Delta 60mm fan. It is a 38CFM fan and the noise isn't too bad. Cools my Athlon XP 1800+ rather well (33-34C idle, 38-39C load (Prime95))

I dont see the point of anything even close to loud o na heatsink. I run ALL mine with the fans off the Volcano2. Extreamly quiet and push about 30 cfm. as for the new ak7 I am happy with it. doesnt seem to have as good sodder points as the sk6 though. maby its just mine. Still cools better, and is even quieter.
