Burning .iso's

Post by Hipnotic_Tranz »

I've downloaded 2/3 of Mandrake and while I was sitting here downloading the third and final iso, I thought I'd go ahead and burn the other two to a disk. Well, I went into nero and tried to open it and it didn't see the file. Ok, I'll select "all files" and click on it manually, it gave the error:

<img src=http://hipnotictranz.homestead.com/files/error.jpg>

So, I downloaded CloneCD and it too can only find *.ccd files. I was under the impression that both of these burning titles could read/write .iso's? Am I wrong in this assumption or am I just not doing it correctly?

is the file a .iso or is it a .bin... Nero will burn ISO's u need Fireburn or CDRWin to burn .bin files or get Binchunker and convert it into an ISO then use nero to burn it with... ISO's can be a real pain in the ass at times...

The file is an *.iso and every thing I read says nero will burn iso's, but when you go to open it all the file types are nri, nrm, nrv, etc.

Executioner - Just downloaded it. I'll check it out now before I'm off to school, thanks :)

<b>DO NOT USE ISOBUSTER IF YOU WANT THE CD BOOTABLE</b>

ISO Buster will extract all the files from the ISO and can allow burning the files BUT the CD would not be bootable at all. You would have to make boot disks and a general pain in the ass.

DiskJuggler didn't like my system one bit. It gave me blue screens at startup so I decided to delete it. After I did they went away, imagine that :)

Still can't figure out how to do it in nero. It says with older versions you should just select "ok" to that error and continue. Well, I tried this and no other dialog box poped up. So then I thought that maybe mine was considerd a "newer" version, in which case the site said:

<i>"An "Open" file dialog box appears with the following image types supported (*.nrg, *.iso, *.cue)"</i>

Mine doesn't give me the option to view .iso's nor .cue's....I've even downloaded the latest nero and have had no luck? I'm currently back to running old trusty 5.5.3.5

Here's a screen of what my <a href="http://hipnotictranz.homestead.com/files/desktop.jpg" target="_NEW">desktop</a> looks like with nero open. You can see that in the drop-down box, there is no selection for .iso files. And yes, I have scrolled down the rest of the way... And like I said, when I select it to view "All Files *.*" and click on the iso manually, it gives me that error above and thats it. After I click that nothin' happens...

Bleh, what am I missing?!

So, yer got the latest 5.5.7.8 and you go to FILE and then to BURN IMAGE ... what does it search for by default for you?
MY Nero 5.5.7.8 searches by default for: "Images Files (*.nrg;*.iso;*.cue)" and only other selection is ALL FILES.
I have no prob to select an .ISO image for burning with the default selection ?!?!
This is freakin strange that you don't get this selection when you go to FILE | BURN IMAGE.

p.s. I don't use any wizard ...

whoa, thats odd.....

I swear to god I tried clicking on "file->burn image" and it didn't work thats why I always just tired pressing the "open" button at the top.....I'm such a dumbass :o I haven't been feelin' good today maybe my heads kinda fluttered up. I hope thats it, either that or I'm getting dumber by the day.

I got it to work; burning mandrake 8.1 as we speak. Thanks for all the helps guys :o
