Please give us more details. Is this a new system build or did you change something out and then this happened?
Offhand I'd try re-seating the video card and ram. Are the jumpers all set correctly?

Did the card work before in another system? The beep code points to a videocard error. It might be easiest to check the videocard in another system to make sure it works.
Q. I have an ASUS K7M, A7V or Abit BE6-II motherboard and I have instability or tearing problems with the GeForce. How can I fix it?

The ASUS K7M has a jumper for selecting the I/O-voltage, which is set to 3.4V by default. Set this to 3.31V (since this is the 'official' voltage for video cards). On the K7M this jumper is on the upper right side, a jumper-block with 4 pins.
* However, for some people the reverse may be true - increasing the voltage or leaving it at the default may fix the problem.

sorry for the lame post last night guys, I was beat after fooling with that damn card for so long..... here's a better description of the problem, including specs, that I posted on another forum....
ok, so I posted before about a DOA vid card... popped it in gf's machine, thing works great!!!! so what is my problem??!!

HP Pavilion 8705 CTO (Custom)
1Ghz Athlon Classic
256 MB RAM

PhoenixBIOS 6.0.J
Win2K Pro SP2 / AMD/AGP/Win2K Registry Patch
Asus nVidia Riva TNT2 Pro - AGP

gf's machine's specs:
Epox 7KXA
Athlon Classic 500
HP Pavilion M70 Monitor 17" (my old one)<--could this be a prob???
256 MB RAM
installed VIA 4-in-1's for HP machine... vid card still doesn't work...
any ideas guys?????
so someone suggested a conflict between slot A Athlons and GeForce cards... but my gf's machine accepts the card fine....
tonight, I will try reseating RAM (I already tried reseating the vid card AT LEAST 5 times), also i will check for a voltage setting for vid card....
any other ideas?????

Also try the usual suspects:
- check for newer mobo BIOS
- Try to set the BIOS to AGP 1x and disable Fast Write, try different AGP Aparture size and try to turn of superbypass (it'll cost performance but we want to see if we can make the card work first)
- remove all other cards (if there are any other cards)
- how strong is your powersupply ? OEMs often use weak PSUs that don't allow much in upgrading that require more power.
- What revision/stepping is your K7M ?
Just check http://groups.google.com/ and search for "k7m geforce2" and you will see that this combo caused a lot of problems for many people.

but to add to that i had a k7m with a geforce 2 64 meg gts with a 900 athlon and after i got it set up it was probably the most stable computer i had the thing just refused to crash

It was often a cointoss with the mobos from that time and geforce cards, for some it worked, for others it didn't .... if ya would take a look at newsgroups you would see how freaked the situation was(is).
I did mention the PSU although the GF2 has less powerdraw compared to the old infamous GF256DDR cards.
It can be really frustrating to hunt down the detail that doesn't allow you to run this hardware combo, especially since it works for others.

That may have been a mistake, since the K7M has the AMD 751 northbridge. I think Via's 4-in-1 updater is intelligent enough to skip installation on the Via AGP driver in these cases, but I'm not totally sure.
The conflict is between the GeForce series of chips and the AMD 751 AGP controller. Most often the problem is lockups or crashes in 3D apps.so someone suggested a conflict between slot A Athlons and GeForce cards...

right on doc silly i think your right earlier rvisions had mucho problems
the via 4-1 installer isn t intelligent enuf to skip the agp installation you need to download the mini port from amd for the agp
