How am I going to see my files on ntfs partition.
How am I going to see my files on ntfs partition.
currently I have win98 installed on a harddrive in my system, but only because I never did register winxp, and now I can't even log in to hack it. doh! anyways, I downloaded this program that lets me see my ntfs partitions in win98, but everytime I open up mycomputer, or the program, or ie, it says that the harddrive my partitions are on is not mapped and they call it N: it says to access it through an ie window or command prompt, I tried both but no help. Any ideas? Thanx

Not sure I follow you. A mapped drive is a NETWORKED drive - that has nothing to do with a physical drive.
I assume the drive with the NTFS partition(s) is installed in the computer running 98?
Are you using the NTFS driver from Systernals? I've never used it, but it should work fine - I've used their FAT32 driver for Windows NT and it worked great.
Are you seeing the NTFS partition in MyComputer? What exactly does it say when you try to click on it?

You can try http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freew ... in98.shtml but this freeware will only give you READ access to the NTFS partition.
http://www.winternals.com/products/fct/ntfswin98.asp is the READ/WRITE version that comes with a $49 pricetag, they offer a demo but I dunno if that includes WRITE access.
I also used their full version of FAT32 with NT4 and it worked like a charm.
Is this the program you tried already?
