Help! Asap! Getting Trolled?

Hello everyone.... I'm new to this forum.. I usually lurk around Anand, but due to a recent event I signed up here to get some trading advice...
First off I did a deal in auctions.yahoo.com. I saw this great laptop with a buy it now price and of course I bit the bullet as I really needed one. The seller was new but I was a new buyer too. The seller (tom9782002) was unussually slow as it took him another day to send me a paypal invoice to pay him. The invoice came from a tsmiths45 but in it he mentioned his yahoo seller ID. He apologized and said he isn't usually online on the weekends. Fine so I said ok here is your payment please send me your phone number etc. etc. He didn't I e-mailed him several times if he received my payment nothing for 2 days. I paid him via e-check it'll probably clear paypal tomorrow. I noticed though that he seems to be new as tsmiths only came about 10/16/03 and tom9782002 was created on 10/18/03. The auction opened and ended on 10/19/03. I paid him 10/20/03. It'll clear tomorrow. But what bothers me is his complete lack of communication. Oh by the way he is a new paypal member too.
Does this raise red flags all over the place? Am I being too paranoid? How do I stop paypal from paying him if he is a troll? Am I protected in anyway by paypal/yahoo? Please give me advice, I only have a day left.....
