Help...Help..............
Does any one know how to INCREASE the Vcore on this setup ??
The Max I can get is the 10% from the BIOS 1.75 to 1.85.
I saw some post they can get up to 1.95 to 2.23....how ???

Here is my setup......

* BIOS (2ba2) Set to TURBO
* Unlocked XP1800+ (Retail)
* 12 x 141 FSB 1692Mhz Max Stable!!
* Max Vcore @ 1.85
* 2x 256MB Cosair PC2400 DDR
* Nvidia GTS 32MB DDR ( OC GPU to 200Mhz & DDR to 300Mhz )
* 2x 20GB 7200RPM RAID

when u see a vcore that high especially on a dragon they have done a mod to get it that high... That board only allows 1.85 Thats why i went with the Iwill XP333 might be an ali chipset but its one hell of an overclocker and it still performs damn good from what i have seen...

I saw an article on how to do it...

I did see an article about a month ago on how to perform the voltage modification on a Soyo K7V Dragon mainboard. I highly recommend against it, as you are risking more than just damaging the mainboard - you will probably stress the CPU and kill it.

Actually, I just found the article for you. Here is the link:

http://www.teccentral.de/overclocking/i ... /anzeigen/

As you can see, it comes from techcentral, over in Germany. You can attain 2.4 Volts with the modification, which is basically soldering a 50 KOhm turning potentiometer between pins 7 and 9 of a voltage controller IC. I believe this type of modification simply changes a reference voltage for the chip, so the chip puts out the same delta in voltage that it's programmed to provide. I could be wrong though, as I don't know the circuitry of the IC. If I were going to perform the modification, I would get a copy of the data sheet on the IC, just so I would understand why this modification was working.

Again, I highly recommend against doing this modification to your mainboard. Extreme cooling would be necessary for the CPU!

Here's the link for a slightly translated version of the web site:

See if that gives you an english version. Good luck.
