Athlon XP and motherboards

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually ended up looking at some benchmarks and ran across the EPoX 8K7A+. Not only was it a ton cheaper (got it for $75) it performed better than the MSI board. Has onboard RAID via the same highpoint controller as my last motherboard (Abit KA7-100) so I shouldn't have to re-make my RAID array which should be nice.

I love my MSI board (K7T-Turbo).. the thing that sucks, is it will only accept up to a 1800+ XP cpu. :\

Oh well, that'll be when i get a new mobo, that can support all of them

Ive tried ASUS, A-Bit, and MSI, and out of them all, ive liked the MSI the most, for their stability..

Yep, The xp333 is out now.

Check the website if you have an ATI card, they got a fix up for it.

One reveiw I read was not a good reveiw on it but it was a premature board so I`m going to wait for a couple updates on it before I buy but I expect it to be a great board!!!!Great stability and overcolcking!

I'm awaiting delivery of a new Athlon XP 1800+ and I'm trying to decide on a board for it. I don't know if I should go with, say the 8KHA+, or one of the nForce boards, or stay with my 8K7A+

NForce seems to be more of a mid/high-end mainstream market. Its benchmarks are pretty close to a GeForce 2 MX's. I'd go with the Shuttle or the Epox for a higher end rig.

Stay with 8k7a from what i seen it isnt worth buying a 8kha.

I am currently running an Athlon 1.4 gig on a DFI AK76-SN motherboard (761 chipset). I plan on upgrading to the XP2000 sometime in January when it comes out. Of course as soon as the XP came out I was tripping on if my DFI was going to support it. Turns out it does and I already have their BIOS flash installed. I'm ready to go in January!
