Help Cooling sugestions for a dual 2000MP

Post by zr500 »

I kinda new at this. I was running a XP2100 on a biostar board but I just got ahold of an ASUS A7M266-D and two AMD MP 2000+. I have this all in an aluminum Alienware Case. I have been running 4 80mm case fans, a True Power 430 with the 80mm in the back and 90mm on the bottom and a Thermaltake Dragon Orb 3. I need some ideas for what to use on the CPUs. The dragon orb is driving me crazy it is way to load with a high pitch whine. I would like something that isn't so loud. I've also considered liquid. What do you suggest.

Welcome to PCA! :)

Lot's of good cooling solutions for those cpu's and without that gawd awful whine. These are about the best there is and both will cool darn well using a quiet fan like the vantec stealth. I use an Antec blue lighted fan and it does very well and is very quiet.

Other good solutions are the AX7 and the SK7, both cool very well using a quiet fan similar to the stealth. The Vantec AeroFlow looks to be a good solution also, we have a review on it coming soon.

For dealers carrying any of these I suggest to check the top menu bar on "Buy and sell". Those are all good sites which should give you no troubles. ;)

I'd go liquid...I'm going to get myself an Asus A7N8X soon to run my 1800+...but I'm going to add a 2700+ or 2800+ shortly after and water is my only solution as of now.
