Yo!

I am looking for an inexpensive (never liked the word "cheap") PCI soundcard. I can't do anything Aureal (Vortex1 & Vortex2 run like crap--if at all--on KX133 Athlon boards). I'd like something with EAX support, & four-speaker support would be groovy, too, but...

$30 shipped is my price-range, guys. LMK if you can help!

Thanks!

:)

Hey folks! It looks like I've found a SB512 for close to what I'm wanting to pay. Thanks!

:D

Ah, you could've just bought a SBPCI64, it has a little bit of EAX and 4 speakers support...

Yeah, the 512 though seemed to be a good balance of performance with economy--in many ways its the same card as the SBLive! Value (same chips). It's not quite the music card that the Live! Value is (like I do desktop audio production, eh?), & it doesn't do the "LiveWare" thing. But it will be good for how I'll be using it.
