Just picked these up in a deal and realized that they won't work for my needs (My RAID card requires PCI-X, my mistake!). I'll have to spend double the money to get what I need for my server ... oh well.

Hate to part with it as it is a very solid board, tested and works fine.

Comes with board, printed manual, and a backplate

[L=PRODUCT INFO]http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131196[/L]

Asus P5K-E Motherboard - $95 shipped

MSI X1900xt Radeon with a large Aerocool cooler on it, works perfect, never a problem -- $55 shipped (not sure what these are worth anymore so lmk if I am out of line)

G.Skill 8GB DDR2 800 (4x2GB) Ram in excellent condition - $72 shipped

TAKE ALL 3 ABOVE ITEMS FOR $200 shipped

Only trades I am looking for are WD 1TB Green Drives.

Thanks

Greg

Just FYI, PCI-X cards will work in normal PCI slots if you were wondering, it's just bandwidth limited... & some of the pins will hang over which occasionally will be a problem. I've been able to get 120-130MB/s on regular PCI. Of course the same setup got 180-195MB/s with PCI-X (shame that it was an AGP only board or I'd be using that).

There are no certainties of operating a PCI-X card in a PCI slot. Some will work, some will not.

As for finding a replacement motherboard, I could only find a handful of them on Newegg, all server motherboard nonetheless. So you are likely looking to getting a couple of Xeons or Opterons. Hopefully you didn't get the CPU yet. The consumer motherboards don't seem to carry that slot from what I can tell.

Odd, maybe I've just had good luck then. I've done it on about 3 boards so far.

But yeah, PCI-X is not something you find on a consumer board. Heck, I'm pretty sure they're phasing it out all together for PCI-E.

It is more of an issue with the actual card itself, not the board you are putting it into. If you get the card to work in one, it should work in all.

Huh, I guess I'm just lucky then. And now I feel bad for all the bad things I've said about Adaptec.
