Just passing along a hot deal, which I missed! I couldn't get in on the original 10 and then I bought a 700E@933 so I couldn't get in on the other 30! ARRGHH

Didn't the price go up yet?
I thought it was great idea at first, when they were linking it to "that" auction site, when one of them wanted to provide the service (at no profit) to see if he could get the great deal for himself as well as other members in a "group buy" thing. I've lost my interest after he keeps upping the prices and that totalitarian attitude in his newer post. It's still a great deal but to me it's the principal of it.

"God, what a loser."

Pretty insightful/useless comment but wonder who it was directed at? (I know it was addressed in my direction!) :P

No it wasn't directed in your direction damien6.. it was for the guy selling them. I never do business with people like that. ;)

Oh, ok. My mistake, I just thought it was directed at me. :)

Like I've said, the price is still pretty good regardlessly but when you go from "come on guys lets do a group buy so we (both you and I) can get them at a great deal" to "hey, I think I should make some profit on the side now that I already got mine" mentally kind of threw me off.

I emailed the guy who's selling it directly (thanks York1 for the email address) and now waiting on his response. I want them (2) for my dual board also, if not I could wait it won't kill me. :)

Hey my original post is in no way an endorsement of this guy. I was pissed that he raised the price too.

Oh well I got a 700E@933 for $125, and its retail so if it dies then free new chips!

Hell, you can get a slot A T-bird 1 GHz for $178 + shipping over on P-watch and I'll GUARANTEE ya it will OC better than those ratty P3 1 giggerz. Just food for thought. :)

Can a T-Bird run SMP? Thats what most of these people are doing. Buying two of them to run dualies. When will AMD finally get out a SMP supported cpu/mobo? I'll buy amd, but only when they do smp. Cause that's what my next machine must be. If it takes too long...those 1gigs are sounding good. All i do is Photoshop, coldfusion, vb, js...So dualies would do wonders for my work.

I agree, AMD along with these mobo companies need to get their butts in gear and get some dual cpu options out on the market to make the T-birds competative in the power user/server market. Esp now that DDR is starting to hit the streets. But if you don't care about SMP then the T-bird is definately the way to go at the moment.
