NOTE on these measurement instruments - my 30 years in the filed of measurement:

The ones that are digit/vernier allow you to quickly read to the nearest 0.001 inches. If you want to read to a 0.0001", you need to read the vernier scale on the barrel of the mic. These are older style micrometers that came out in the late 80's.

As for the digital micrometer, most people think that these are the most accurate, because they measure out to 5 decimal places. The accuracy of these micrometers are the same as the verniers listed here for sale ±.0001". Also, if you are not careful or don't know what you are doing, you can actually make an incorrect measurement. Why? These mics do not have a mechanical zero like the vernier micrometers, that when set, you know they are at zero. With digitals, it requires you to set the zero each time with the anvils shut completely. Both the top and bottom anvils MUST be clean in order to have a correct zero setting.

Ok i want the thickness gauge. That other stuff would just get destroyed if i were to use them (tons of oil and chips). But that thickness gauge would be nice to have around by the laser for getting a quick measurement of the steel i have to cut for figuring out focal lenths and what nots.

As for trade.. are you looking for any machinist tools or are you selling this stuff cause your getting away from it all?

Hehe - no I'm still in the business of calibration or metrology. It's just I have so much of this stuff and I simply don't need it. As for trades, anything goes if I accept it.

ok Ill have to go through my tool box and see whats what and go from there.
