i'm in need of a modem to hold me off while i sort things out in terms of getting broadband. i recently moved and upon ordering SBC DSL i cancelled my comcast cable internet (been with them since '98 but couldn't justify the ridiculous price anymore compared to the current DSL deals). anyway a week later SBC calls and says some kinda crap about my line being too far from the switch (year right, they tell me this a week after they take my order and initially say my line is compatible.) anyway for all the trouble i'm temporarily on dial-up till they sort things out.
i'm sure the majority of you guys are on broadband and may have some old working pci modems lying around. i haven't been on dial-up for ages so i have no idea how much they run nowadays.
i'm looking around the $10 range. does that sound right??? anyway lemme know what you guys got.
Nothing Here.

Not to cut anybody short (unless they give you a better deal) but you might as well just buy new. I've bought several of these for clients over the past few years and for the price, you can't go wrong.
